Have a garbage free day!

A dear friend of mine sent this story to me. It couldn't have arrived at a better time. I like the philosophy behind it so I wanted to share this with those who read my blog. Enjoy...or I might say In Joy...live in joy....spread your goodness today to others. And of course, have a fearless day!

*******************

One day I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!

The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really
friendly.

So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks: They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it, and sometimes they'll dump it on you.

“Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets,” the cabbie said.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...

Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Have a happy, garbage-free day!

Eddi Reader: Moonriver

I think it depends on how old you are when you listen to this song if it means anything to you or not. If you're young, you may think, "that's an old lady song". I'm 45 and this song reminds me of my mother. She used to sing it in the car on long trips from Nashville, Tn. to Hardy, Ark. So, this song reminds me of my youth and brings up only positive images and memories. I found it while looking through some of Eddi Reader's music clips. I love her and her version of this golden oldie.

Enjoy,
Josie

"You've Got a Friend in Me"...Lyle Lovett, Randy Newman

Here's a song that reminds me of all of my friends and the way that I love each and every one. As I grow older, I appreciate my true friends more and more. I guess with age, we realize who those people are and cherish them with a deeper reverence. I'm offering this song to all of those people.

Great News!

Today I had a miracle happen! I went in to get a biopsy of a growth that the hospital found on my thyroid. I was so scared of having a needle put in my neck. So, there I was lying on the cot and they put the jelly all over my neck to do the ultrasound so that they could guide the needle in to the growth. I could feel my throat closing from being so nervous. The Doctor looked and looked but couldn't find anything. She left and called my primary doctor. Then, she came back and checked again. Unbelievably, the growth is gone! I asked if she was absolutely sure and she said YES!
YAY!!!!! I skipped through the parking lot back to my car. I still can't believe it. It's got to be due to prayer. I asked her if that was normal for growths to go away and she said no. Wow! I think I'll do art about this.

Smiling the BIG smile,
Josie
